Marie Chaplet grew up between two worlds: the privilege of a family filled with painters, illustrators, poets, and musicians - and the instability of living between two homes, bridging people and cultures. Raised by artists, she learned early that life can be exuberant and precarious at the same time. Her voice translates these contradictions.
Drawing on a long lineage of storytellers, marked by migration, war, passion, and emotional turbulence, Marie offers songs that move and connect us. Her voice carries the echo of childhood rooms filled with paintings and music, her presence draws the listener in. Marie Chaplet is a modern day chansonnière, a vessel transmitting stories that transcend us all.
